President Rodger Ferguson purchased PennJersey Environmental Consulting from Dick Katz in 2012 and has grown the business to a professional staff of sixteen, including four LSRPs. Noting the complexity of assessment and remediation projects, he describes the company as having a strong belief in creative solutions. “We’re big enough to serve, yet small enough to care,” he says, “once we understand the extent of the problem the solution is easier.” PennJersey is known for being responsive and proactive for its clients and protecting their liability risks through technical and regulatory expertise, superior communications, and advocacy.

Mr. Ferguson is a nationally-recognized thought leader in the scientific and regulatory community. An active member of the Licensed Site Remedial Professionals Association since its inception, he was the President of the Board of Trustees in 2018 and continues to serve on three of its committees: Steering, Risk Management and Loss Prevention, and Regulatory Outreach. Mr. Ferguson is a key participant in NJDEP stakeholder groups established for the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation, Remediation Standards, the 2019 amendments to the Site Remediation Reform Act, and was a co-author of several NJDEP guidance documents, including the committees established to evaluate alternative and clean fill material protocols (as stakeholder co-chair) as well as the quality assurance and analytical laboratory methodologies required for the investigation of contaminated sites.

Mr. Ferguson earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Ursinus College in 1983 and has over 39 years of experience in the environmental field. When Mr. Ferguson isn’t at the helm steering PennJersey, he enjoys spending time with his family, rescuing old houses, and coaching lacrosse. Mr. Ferguson is a lifelong fan of Philadelphia’s professional sports teams.
